Why I Don’t Care About Alton Sterling

WARNING: The following video shows Alton Sterling getting shot, and may be the funniest shit you see all day.

If you watched the video you heard them shout “get on the ground”, and he didn’t. They tried to taser him, and it was ineffective. Then they tried to physically restrain him. Proper and responsible use of the continuum of force. When his continued resistance posed a threat to the officers, as a last resort they shot him. He had 3 chances to save himself. 3 times he decided his life wasn’t worth it and continued to resist arrest. So why should I care? I don’t. I can’t.

Let’s assume I hadn’t seen the video & just heard that police held a man down and shot him. I would still think he deserved it because Black Lives Matter has rioted and thrown tantrums over cases that were clearly justifiable uses of force. So now I automatically assume there was justification. A classic case of the boy crying wolf.

Alton Sterling was a Bad Guy

Even assuming he dindu nuffin this time that warranted the use of deadly force (which he did, it’s on video), I’d still have a hard time feeling sorry for him.

Sterling, a Bloods gang banger and a registered Democrat, had quite the rap sheet before he was gunned down in an altercation with the police. The charges include battery, assault, drug and weapons charges, and being a dead beat dad. He was also a pedophile. – Charles C. Johnson on GotNews, com

I feel sorry for Alton’s kid and his family, for all the bullshit he’s made them suffer through over the years (including this). And I feel sorry for these police officers and their families, whose careers are going to be ruined for nothing more than doing their best to control a dangerous situation and exhausting all non-lethal options until they were forced to shoot.

For the record, my feelings on this incident would be exactly the same if he’d been white. I don’t sympathize with child molesters, drug dealers, gang members, or people who don’t respect the authority of the police. So I certainly don’t feel sorry for Alton Sterling. He was a bad guy who didn’t value his own life or the rule of law, and society as a whole will be better off without him.

Comrade Turner is an awful person as evidenced by this article, so don’t follow him on twitter @WrongThinkBlog unless you’re an awful person too.
